Wyeth was a front running pharmaceutical manufacturer. It was established in 1860. Back then, it was known as John Wyeth and Brother. Over the past century, the headquarters was moved from Philadelphia to Collegeville, Pennsylvania. A second main office was located in Madison.
Wyeth was responsible for a lot of popular drugs, including Advil, Effexor, Premarin and Robitussin, among several others. In 2005, it had around 50,000 employees. Its medications were sold all over the world.
However, the ascension of this company has reached to an end in 2009, when it was acquired by Pfizer. Most of the operations remained unchanged though.
