About Goodyear S.A.
Goodyear S.A. was established in 1898, in the small town of Akron, Ohio. Today, it is one of the most important tire manufacturers in the world and the sole supplier for NASCAR competitions. The company produces tires in all kinds of sizes.
They can fit trucks, SUVs, race cars, farm vehicles and even airplanes. The company was named in the memory of Charles Goodyear, who has discovered the vulcanized rubber. He had no connection with the firm though.
With more than 72,000 employees spread around the world, Goodyear has global operations and supports most markets out there. In 2010, the net income was $216 million.
